Kendarious Smith

HI there! My name is Kendarious Smith. As a certified surgical technologist with a year of experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work across all specialties, both emergent and non-emergent. I’m passionate about ensuring the efficiency of surgeries to prioritize patient safety. I take pride in being thoroughly prepared, ready to handle any situation, and always striving to make sure everything goes according to plan — but when it doesn’t, I’m ready to adapt and serve the team.

Before I was a surgical technician, I worked in the ED at the hospital I am currently at. I have a year of experience scrubbing at a level 1 trauma facility, scrubbing a vast area of specialities. This experience has made me comfortable with difficult procedures and the ability to adapt to those unfamiliar.  

I completed my surgical technician education online via MedCerts. After completion of the program, I completed a paid internship at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. During the internship, I completed 150 cases as first scrub. From there, I complete my certification exam. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.
