Katherine Pile-Spellman

I am a dually-certified New York City special education teacher and private academic coach with over a decade of experience supporting students in grades 3–12. I maintain a boutique practice specializing in college admission essay mentorship, executive functioning coaching, reading intervention, writing instruction, and bespoke exam preparation for students with IEPs, ADHD, and language-based learning profiles.

For high school students preparing for university admissions, I provide discreet, highly structured guidance throughout the entire application process. Using an executive-function framework, I transform what can feel like an overwhelming and fragmented task into a calm, organized, step-by-step experience. Students are supported in planning timelines, managing deadlines, refining personal statements, and presenting their strongest, most authentic voice — without unnecessary stress at home.

I work comfortably with internationally mobile and multilingual families and am bilingual in English and Spanish. My approach is measured, relationship-centered, and exceptionally professional, with great care given to confidentiality and collaboration with schools and care teams.
