Kasey Woods

A proud product of Howard University, Kasey Woods graduated with a degree in Legal Communications and a minor in Business Administration in 2004. Upon graduation she went on to pursue a career in public relationsin New York City with PR agency Manning, Selvage & Lee,an agency that was partof the second largest PR firm in New York at the time. While there she excelled as a junior publicist in the consumer PR division and made her mark with an array of clients. Kasey eventually made the transition to the entertainmentand lifestyle space as the Director of PR & Marketing for Digiwaxx Media, an entertainment marketing and promotions company in NY - a role she held for 7 years before launching her own PR company, Impulse Brand Management Group. Within this scope Kasey worked with an array of clients to build their brands through strategic PR and marketing activations for clients including violinist Damien Escobar, popular hair care brand Camille Rose, HIV/AIDS activist Hydeia Broadbent, media personality Necole Kane and many more.

In 2019, Kasey once again transitioned into a new professional space as a member of the Super Connector Media team as a publicist and eventually the firm's "Broadcast Media Strategist". Within this role Kasey worked with the agency's publicists to create media worthy opportunities for Super Connector Media's roster of clients while securing valuable broadcast media segments that helped to expand the reach of each client's brand goals and messaging, securing an average of 12 TV segments a week.

Kasey then began to soar independently once again and launched Mecca Made Media (M3) as a results driven communications agency specializing in broadcast media placements, targeted PR strategy and business development consulting. Officially launched on January 28, 2020, M3 works with business leaders in their respective fields, to position them as industry experts while helping to develop and amplify their brand image. Kasey was able to amass over $250,000 in projected revenue for the year 2020 after a mere 7 days of creating the company – proof of the power of the brand and her insight into client needs and trends.

With a multitude of PR experience under her belt and over 15 years of experience in entertainment, lifestyle and corporate public relations, Kasey has carved out a niche for herself in the results driven PR landscape, which has led to a career focused on leveraging broadcast media opportunities to position clients as industry leaders and groundbreaking experts in their respective fields. Past television segments include the Today Show, Good Day NY, Access Hollywood, Home & Family, CNN, Cheddar News, The Mel Robbins Show, The Wendy Williams Show, ABC, CBS, PBS, FOX, NBCand a litany of other highly rated broadcast outlets.

As the creator of a black owned, women led business, it has always been an important part of Kasey’s business model to support those in need and those whose stories mirrors hers, and thusly the Professional Mentorship Program was born. This intensive 12 month campaign was created to award four small businesses or organizations with a scholarship worth $60,000 each, to be utilized towards Mecca Made Media PR, consulting, business development and marketing services. The chosen companies are representative of the hardworking, passionate brands that are the epitome of the M3 core mission and values and be of need of assistance to take their companies to the next level.

Additionally, Kasey created the ‘Broadcast Bootcamp – A PR Masterclass’ as a viable resource for both budding and established publicists that want to gain insight on how to obtain television coverage for their clients. The program’s business model relies heavily on the leveling of the playing field amongst communications professionals and removing the veil to uncover the tricks of the trade for obtaining broadcast media placements that often times seem to be hidden and unobtainable. The program includes a 16 chapter book/e-book (“So You Want To Be On TV, Huh?: The modern day publicists’ blueprint to earning TV placements for any client”), 10 part webinar series, consultation services and mentorship opportunities amongst other deliverables.

With writing a first love, Kasey also launched The Curated Circle, a progressive literary agency that works with select influencers within the business and lifestyle industries to ghostwrite their narratives on their behalf. She works with media personalities, athletes, artists, celebrities and executives on a global scale to create a professional, polished body of work, ready to be published as well as a full and all-inclusive literary campaigns to support its launch.

In addition to her storied career in communications, mental health advocacy and as a writer, Kasey has also enveloped the world of art as the Creative Director and board member for The Gloria Gail Gallery, a progressive, nonprofit art space in Brooklyn, NY that was created to promote the work of women and artists of color.
