Joshua STMeran

I’m excited about working with students on their educational as well as their social/emotional well-being. Throughout my experiences, I find it rewarding to be able to relate and reach youth in ways that help them put their best foot forward. It gives me a sense of joy and accomplishment to know that I’m giving of myself to the benefit of another. Counseling gives me the opportunity to pass on the torch of my education and experiences to the future benefit of young scholars. 

My experiences as a teacher, school counselor, a youth advisor, and working as an assistant admissions director gives me a multi faceted outlook on education and how to approach and introduce it to the following generation. The culmination of my experiences allows me to not only coach in the traditional sense but also magnetically relate to our students, parents, faculty, and other members of our external community. I look to be a role model wherever I go, I understand that persuasion and perseverance are the keys to success.

• Introduction to Mandated Counseling (Cesis)
• Introduction to STARS 
• Perform parent outreach
• Assist with student post-secondary planning
• Assist with vocational planning and assessments
• Assist guidance counselor with external referrals, GED, and YABC
• Attend support team meetings
• Support teachers, advisors & support staff in planning and facilitating peer mediations
• Identify & assist ongoing social emotional support needs.
