Bryndan Thomas

Hello! This letter is in regard to my experience in the educational workforce spanning over 5 years now. I have worked in various positions including a lead teacher role for 4th grade, substituting, a cooperative teacher, a study hall coordinator and a teaching assistant in two separate behavioral schools. As of January 2025, I am on track to receive my teacher certification for New York state and only need a couple extra courses that I am planning to attend this coming spring semester. I also worked as a tour guide in NYC, loving every moment I was given to share knowledge and stimulate people's minds. 

In my time as an educator, I have found true fulfillment in life when a student recognizes that they are capable. This is especially so in underprivileged communities where students may live in an environment that suppresses growth. To show a child their own strengths and help boost their confidence in their intellectual abilities is far more important than recognizing the individual strengths of each student. When the students believe in themselves, they can take the reins and discover their own capabilities to use in real world situations.

As a prospective employee, I can bring an engaging, positive energy to any classroom or faculty meeting. I pride myself in my organizational skills and create realistic expectations for my students as well. Safety and school policies is the first priority for any learning environment making this the first thing I lecture while creating a sense of security in the students eyes as I emphasize the importance of their well being. The curriculum a school operates behind is something that should be understood from start to finish before implementing it into a classroom. As data is retrieved from individual students, I can increase or decrease the pace of lessons while understanding the pupils that may need extra support. 

I received my Bachelors of Science Degree from Empire State University in Saratoga Springs, NY in January 2024
