Joshua Sheiman

I am a passionate and experienced music educator with two decades of experience teaching students and adults of all ages and skill levels. I have a bachelors of arts in music from University of Miami as well as a masters in music educaton from Boston University. In addition to teaching private lessons on a variety of instruments for the last 20 years, I have dedicated the last 10 years to developing an award winning multi-instrumental curriculum at the Emery/Weiner School. In addition to being an accomplished educator, I have also performed and recorded my own original compositions and arrangements and am experiecned with modern-day recording technology. Being an active educator and performer has also allowed me to directly connect with the needs of modern-day musicians and inspire them to become the best musicians possible. 

I have spent the last 10 years teaching full-time at the Emery/Weiner School in Houston, Texas. I taught grades 6-12 and helped create and develop the enitre multi-instrumental curriculum. Last year our music program was only one of four schools in Texas to win the SupportMusic Merit Award. I have also spent the last 20 years teaching private individual private lessons to all ages and skill levels on a variety of subjects including guitar, bass, piano, and music theory. In addition to being a full-time educator, I have maintained a busy performing schedule as well as one of the most in-demand guitar players in Houston. I have regularly gigged with several of the best Top 40/Wedding Bands in town as well as professionally recorded and released several albums of my own compositions and arrangements.

I have a masters in music education from Boston University (2015) and a bachelor of arts in music from the University of Miami (2007).
