About Jorge Valadez:
To Whom it May Concern,
I present this missive to offer my services as a CDL-A driver for your company. I believe in second chances and I seek that with you for I feel I have earned this opportunity.
I am a former inmate of the Federal Corrections Institute. Details of the circumstances are found in my resume’ and application. I accepted responsibility, paid my debt to society (as the cliché’ goes) and now I seek redemption. I want to be a better part of society. I know I can no longer be a part of the academic profession; the skilled work world is now a fine opportunity.
I adjust to my environment in order to remain relevant and alive in our society. I have been struggling, but am tenuous in my quest to reestablish myself since exiting the prison system on July 2017. I abide by the constraints of the probation mandates and have remained employed or seeking employment. I have obtained a forklift certificate and my CDL-A license in 2020. My lack of experience I was told was the primary reason for being passed over, but I know the criminal record holds me back.
I currently work as a dishwasher. It is honest work. I believe this position if far away from computerizing and the AI threat. Still, I remain resolute in my quest and I will not stop because I cannot stop. I ask humbly for a second chance.
sinceramente,
~jValadez
Experience
I was a teacher for 24 years before my fall from grace. I have always worked during my college days so manual labor is nothing new. I adjust and evolve. I was certified to handle a forklift, but never got an opportunity to put my skills to work. The same goes for CDL-A, but I retain my credentials.
Education
I am no longer certified to handle a forklift, but this experience gave me a glmpse of the manual skills need to operate a machine. I retain the CDL-A credentials. (medical & license) and remain resolute to find a position with a Trucking company, I maintained a high rating in my classroom training and was reflected in my TXDOT scores.
