About John Groarke:

Career Minister in the US diplomatic service leading foreign policy initiatives during some of the most significant events of the 21st Century, including the reconstruction of post-war Iraq, civilian counter-insurgency operations in Afghanistan, programs in Pakistan supporting regional peace and stability, political reform initiatives in the Middle East, and the reconstruction of post-earthquake Haiti. Served as Charge' d'Affaires and acting DCM at the United States' Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, leading a staff of almost 1,000 in responding to the country's COVID-19 crisis. Currently on the faculty of the National War College of NDU, preparing the next generation of military and diplomatic officers to meet future national security challenges.

Experience

As an Assistant Professor at the National War College, preparing the next generation of national security professionals for the challenges of the 21st Century. US and allied military officers, and diplomats, complete an intense year-long master's degree program in national security strategy. Three decades as a senior US diplomat, with extensive experience in conflict and humanitarian environments.
