About Jitka Elizarraras:
I obtained my MEd in Early and Special Education and B.S. in Psychology and now am focused on expanding my skills and knowledge set in the field. My interest areas include autism spectrum disorder, behavior support services, and family-focused approaches.
Experience
I have worked with people with disabilities in different contexts and environments since 2014. My objective in my professional experiences is not just to support the individual and their goals, but to also provided support to the family. I have experience working with children with disabilities, primarily autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome, in education, home, and clinical settings. My primary approach to support is behavior intervention and developmental theory.
Education
I currently hold a B.S. in Psychology, MEd in Early and Special Education, and Masters certificate in Behavior Intervention and Supports from Boise State University. I graduated with high honors in 2021 and in 2023. In my undergraduate studies, I was a research assistant to a project studying the effects of maternal depression on breastfeeding practices and infant emotionality, and as a teaching assistant to courses in child development and behavior theory. In my graduate studies, I was a graduate assistant throughout my two years. I worked as a research assistant studying dysgraphia in students with autism spectrum disorder and sleep intervention practices in families who have children with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, I was also a teaching assistant for courses in child development and early childhood education.
