Jessica Weiner

      My name is Jessica Weiner. I graduated with a BA in sociology from Sonoma State University. I have 68 units in early childhood education, a site supervisor permit, early childhood mental health, as well as early childhood development certificate. I completed both practicum’s
at De Anza plus completion of my second and final practicum. I was hired as a student worker and two years later interviewed and secured a permanent staff position as an associate teacher.
     In my eleven years of service, I have been promoted three times in my position or higher. At this time I am interested in pivoting my career trajectory into assisting another segment of the
population.
     I believe that my educational background in sociology and development, along with my professional experiences have instilled valuable interpersonal skills to enhance communication
and relationships with clients. These concepts of equity and comprehensive care will always be the basis of achieving a more inclusive and compassionate society.

For the past 11 years I was an Associate Teacher at De Anza Child Development Center; my formal education is in Sociology and Child Development, including Trauma Informed Practices Continued education. I would like to pursue a new career In community outreach; ensuring a more equitable and inclusive society by focusing on another vulnerable and marginalized community.
