Jennifer Speckman

My credentials include a Master’s Degree in Education, Bachelor of Science Degree, and North Carolina Teacher Certification, with over fifteen years of direct instructional experience as a Special Education Teacher; combined from Michigan and North Carolina.

Being a highly adaptable and versatile educator, I have enjoyed the opportunity to teach a diverse group of children, including those with ADD / ADHD, speech impairment, noncompliant behavior, and learning disabilities.  These experiences have helped me become a well-rounded, compassionate professional, creating lesson plans and activities that accommodate the individual needs, interests and goals of each student.My greatest capability is facilitating all types of learners.  I develop multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners.  I also incorporate various forms of technology, learning centers, group work, and thematic units to teach new concepts and materials.  Furthermore, I make certain that my students receive individualized praise and encouragement, ensuring that they remain motivated and less likely to become frustrated or quit.
