Experience

Alief Independent School District October 2025-Present
Child Nutrition Supervisor
I supervise the nutrition staff in the kitchens to ensure all policies, procedures, and safety measures are being followed. I grade production records and ensure proper inventory is being held in storage. I supervised the kitchens to ensure proper temperatures and portion control. I interact effectively with staff in the office and the kitchens to ensure that we are all on the same page regarding producing the best product we can make for the children in this district.

Aldine Independent School District June 2025-October 2025
Assistant Director of Transportation
Responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervision of transportation personnel, including bus drivers, attendants, routers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff. Ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from 14 schools within the district. Collaborate closely with school administrators to coordinate student discipline procedures related to transportation and to manage bus ramp logistics for timely arrivals and departures. Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, and service excellence in all transportation activities.

Cleveland Independent School District February 2024-May 2025
Assistant Principal
As Assistant Principal at Cleveland Middle School, I provide instructional and administrative leadership with a focus on supporting special populations, including students served through Special Education (SpEd), Section 504, Dyslexia programs, Gifted and Talented (GT), and Emergent Bilingual (EB) services. I oversee curriculum and instructional support in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Social Studies, ensuring alignment with district and state standards. Additionally, I serve as the campus facilitator for Title I and Title III programs, promoting equitable access to resources and high-quality instruction for all students. My leadership priorities center on fostering an inclusive and academically rigorous environment through targeted instructional coaching, ensuring student and staff safety, and managing campus-wide discipline with consistency and care. I collaborate with teachers, specialists, and district leaders to improve student outcomes and support continuous school improvement.

Cleveland Independent School District September 2020-February 2024
Assistant Director of Operations
During a critical transition period prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, I assumed a supervisory role overseeing multiple operational departments, including Child Nutrition, Transportation, Maintenance, Warehouse Operations and Inventory, and Custodial Services. This role emerged organically as I helped coordinate and facilitate cross-departmental efforts during the district shutdown and implementation of the curbside feeding program. Through hands-on leadership and proactive problem-solving, I successfully navigated the complexities of each department. What began as a response to crisis evolved into a sustained leadership role in operations, where I have developed a solid working proficiency and continue to contribute to system-level efficiency and support for students and staff.

Cleveland Independent School District July 2, 2018-September 2020
Director of Child Nutrition
I initially joined Cleveland ISD as Interim Director of Child Nutrition during a time of transition, following the passing of the previous director. Stepping into the role during the summer feeding program and an active audit, I successfully led the district through a perfect audit outcome. Recognizing the opportunity to serve more long-term, I accepted a full-time position and continued to strengthen the program by leading the district through a perfect procurement audit and a flawless administrative review in the fall. Throughout my tenure, I have prioritized modernization, accountability, and service quality. I have implemented multiple system upgrades, including a new point-of-sale system, inventory management system, menu planning software, digital menu boards, an interactive app, and an online ordering and menu viewing platform. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I organized and managed a comprehensive curbside feeding program, working closely with nutrition and transportation staff to provide meals for over 4,000 students weekly from March to September. This experience not only strengthened my leadership across operational departments but also deepened my commitment to equity, access, and student well-being.

Conroe Independent School District, Conroe, TX August 17, 2015-July 2, 2018
CTE/Science Teacher
I began my career in education as a certified Health Science and Technology (6–12) teacher, serving as a Forensic Science instructor at Conroe High School. My time in the classroom was foundational, not just in content delivery but in building meaningful relationships with students. That experience shaped my leadership philosophy: students are not data points or participation metrics; they are individuals I care for deeply. The connections I built with students in the classroom continue to guide my work in Child Nutrition and operations. I view every program and decision through the lens of student well-being, equity, and dignity. This student-centered approach drives my commitment to excellence across all departments I serve.

Cleveland Emergency Hospital, Cleveland, TX March 2016-April 2018
Clinical Dietitian
In addition to my work in education and operations, I served as a part-time clinical dietitian at a small four-bed hospital and emergency room in Cleveland. In this role, I was responsible for developing and approving patient menus, as well as reviewing patient satisfaction surveys to ensure we were meeting nutritional needs with both care and excellence. This experience deepened my understanding of clinical standards in nutrition and strengthened my commitment to serving the community through high-quality, patient-centered food service.

Splendora Independent School District, Splendora, TX July 1, 2009-June 15, 2015
Director of Child Nutrition
As Director of Child Nutrition, I successfully implemented Universal Breakfast programs across my district—Breakfast in the Classroom for grades PK–6 and Breakfast in the Cafeteria for grades 7–12, ensuring every student receives a free breakfast daily, regardless of program eligibility. I manage these initiatives within federal guidelines and maintain a positive fund balance, demonstrating both fiscal responsibility and a deep commitment to student wellness. Working collaboratively with the district’s administrative cabinet, I have led extensive improvements across the department, including rewriting menus, production records, and recipes to ensure compliance, efficiency, and employee satisfaction. I also serve as Chairperson of the Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC), guiding district-wide efforts in promoting student health and nutrition. In March 2013, under my leadership, every school in the district earned a HealthierUS School Challenge (HUSSC) medal—three Golds and two Silvers—making our Junior High the first in Texas to earn a Gold award and our High School the third in Texas to be recognized, and the first to receive the Silver Medal. Beyond operational excellence, I have prioritized professional development and public engagement:

Designed and launched the Child Nutrition Department’s website and social media presence (Facebook)

Founded the Splendora Association for School Nutrition through the Texas Association for School Nutrition (TASN)

Ensured that all promoted cafeteria managers were certified through TASN, fostering a culture of professional growth
These initiatives reflect my philosophy that student nutrition is a foundational pillar of academic and community success. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every child is well-fed, supported, and served with care.

Montgomery Independent School District, Montgomery, TX July 15, 2008-June 15, 2009
Child Nutrition Supervisor
I worked as the district’s Child Nutrition Supervisor. I was responsible for creating cost-effective menus for all campuses that met federal, state, and local guidelines. I transitioned our old production records from Xcel into NutriKids so that our production system could interact with our inventory program and ordering system and eventually display nutrition information on the district website. I was also responsible for securing nutrition labels from vendors to ensure compliance. I worked with the Director to determine customer satisfaction, menu and Ala carte cost analysis, and use of commodities to create serving options. I assist managers in ensuring that production records are accurate and helpful to them in future food ordering, planning, and inventory control. I supervised the kitchens to ensure proper temperatures and portion control. I interact effectively with staff in the office and the kitchens to ensure that we are all on the same page regarding producing the best product we can make for the children in this district.

Pampa Regional Medical Center, Pampa, TX February 2005 to July 2008
Clinical Dietitian and Food Service Director
I practiced clinical dietetics in a rural Pampa setting, where I was entrusted with developing patient-specific diets that addressed both medical needs and individual lifestyle circumstances. My role encompassed ensuring patient health and well-being from both clinical nutrition and foodservice perspectives. Daily, I faced the challenge of creating diets and menus that met the diverse needs of patients across all age groups—from infants to the elderly. Through this, I cultivated strong social skills and patience, successfully educating patients on how to maintain their diets at home for long-term health benefits. As a department director, I prioritized customer satisfaction, consistently outperforming larger metropolitan hospitals in both quality and service. I innovated patient menus by introducing a rotating 10-day cycle, which garnered positive feedback from patients, guests, and state surveyors alike. In May 2006, I was promoted to Foodservice Director, while continuing as the clinical dietitian. This role broadened my responsibilities to managing kitchen operations, cafeteria menus, serving lines, and supervising a team of eleven staff members. I also designed a new cafeteria menu aligned with the hospital’s wellness program, which has been well-received by both hospital staff and the visiting public.
