TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

Adjunct Professor, Intensive English Program, St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas (Spring Semester, 2024)

Taught English to international students in an intensive English program. My students were from 6 different countries and were mostly foreign professionals preparing for entrance into American graduate schools and universities, or to advance their careers.  Technology, visual aids, and outside sources were used to supplement the textbooks to achieve the learning objectives. In addition to Business & Legal English for advanced students, the focus was primarily on grammar, speaking, reading, writing & cultural studies. Duties included lesson planning, curriculum development, test preparation, student assessments, and administrative tasks as assigned. Student’s ESL levels ranged from A-2 to C1.

Quest Language School, Puławy & Warsaw, Poland (9/2018 - *8/2023) 

Taught 14 classes of English full-time to Polish students and Ukrainian refugees (A2+ to C2) in Puławy and Warsaw, Poland. Duties included: test preparation for Cambridge & Matura exams, lesson planning, using technological and visual aids for increased participation, pronunciation, grammar, and writing. Additionally, taught & prepared Polish & Ukrainian academics for media appearances & scientific conferences. I taught via zoom during Covid outbreaks (March 2020 to June 2021).

Our students had the highest pass rate in the region.

Professor, Bay Area University, Washington, DC (11/2021-8/2022) Intensive Program, Full-time

Taught English to university students from 9 different countries in an intensive daily course, 5 days a week.  Levels ranged from pre-intermediate to advanced. Extensive focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar. Also prepared students for IELTS, TOEFL & Cambridge exams as well as debate.  Teaching was in-person but included remote teaching during COVID-19 outbreaks.  

CELTA, (ESL instruction methodologies), Doctorate of Law (emphasis on effective communication and active listening), and Bachelor of Arts with a minor in English.
