Jaroslaw Pogoda

I am a Full-Stack Developer with a comprehensive background in front-end and back-end technologies, database management, and cloud services. With several years of experience in the field, I have developed a deep understanding of NodeJS, ReactJS, SQL, Servlets, and .Net Framework MVC.

In my most recent role as a Full Stack Software Engineer at Gesture, I worked on bringing new features and design to the Gesture 3.0 Runner mobile app. This involved extensive use of TypeScript, React, and React-Native. I was also responsible for creating and managing the backend, services, and front end for Gesture partners and the Gesture Merchant platform. Prior to this, I served as a Full Stack Developer Intern at Gesture, where I contributed to enhancing the user experience of the Gesture mobile app which has more than 2 million installs.

Before joining Gesture, I was a Software Engineering Learner at Per Scholas, where I honed my technical skills and gained valuable industry knowledge. In addition to my roles, I founded Pogoda Software, where I created software for community and small businesses, using the FERN stack to build and develop web/mobile applications according to customer needs.

One of my significant projects involved working with Ensync Interactive Contracting for Stellar Services. Our team created a data migration for the NYS Education Department PMIS Service, converting Dbase files to a relational model in Oracle SQL Server.

I am in the process of obtaining a Master of Business Administration from Adams State University and I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from CUNY Queens College, New York.

 I work toward a Master of Business Administration from Adams State University. During my time there, from July 2020 to September 2024, I developed a broad understanding of business management principles. This program helped me strengthen my strategic thinking, decision-making skills, and understanding of business operations, which I believe are beneficial in any technical role.

Before that, I completed my Bachelor of Computer Science at CUNY Queens College, New York, from January 2012 to February 2016. This program laid the foundation of my technical knowledge. I learned various programming languages, data structures, algorithms, databases, and more. It was during this time that I developed a strong interest in full-stack development.

These educational experiences, combined with my practical experience in the field, have equipped me with a unique blend of technical and business acumen.

In addition to my formal education, I also completed a rigorous Software Engineering boot camp at Per Scholas, a respected institute known for its intensive industry-aligned training programs. From November 2021 to March 2022, I immersed myself in a hands-on learning environment, developing practical skills in various aspects of Software Engineering.

The boot camp covered a comprehensive curriculum including front-end and back-end development, cloud computing, and database management. This immersive experience allowed me to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, working on real-world projects and solving complex problems.

In this boot camp, I was introduced to the latest industry tools and technologies, and I learned to collaborate effectively with peers on multiple projects, simulating the dynamic teamwork found in tech environments. This experience further solidified my technical skills and prepared me for the fast-paced, problem-solving nature of the tech industry.
