I am writing to express my interest in the Entry-Level IT role and I am
eager to rejoin the industry after taking a sabbatical to care for a loved
one. My career in IT began in 2008 when I joined Prometheus Group Inc.
as a Security Analyst, supporting vulnerability assessments and conducting
security control assessments. This early experience ignited my passion
for cybersecurity and laid the foundation for my technical skills and
problem-solving abilities.
 

After my role at Prometheus, I further developed my IT expertise at SAIC Inc.
in 2010, where I served as a System Administrator providing Tier II IT support
for the NIH Business System Applications. During my time there, I gained
hands-on experience troubleshooting errors, delivering desktop support, and
managing helpdesk operations, all of which honed my ability to work under
pressure and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
 

In 2015, I joined Apex Consulting Services Group Inc. as an IT Consultant,
where I played a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Defense’s
Defense Contract Management Agency in implementing the Financial
Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) Program. This role required strong
collaboration with stakeholders, attention to detail, and a strategic approach
to IT compliance and audit readiness, reinforcing my ability to manage and
execute high-priority projects.
 

In 2015, my personal circumstances shifted significantly when my mother was
diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. In 2017, I made the decision to step back
from my career to become her primary caregiver through the progression of
her illness. Recently, my family and I transitioned her into a care facility with
full-time medical support, which allows me the opportunity to reengage with
the IT industry and pursue my passion for technology.
 

Though I’ve been away from the industry for a period of time, I have
remained intellectually engaged and have stayed updated with key trends
in IT, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. My previous experiences,
combined with the skills I’ve developed in adapting to challenging situations
and managing complex responsibilities, will allow me to make valuable
contributions to your team.
