I am a Board Certified General Surgeon with fellowship on Transplant and HPB surgery. More than 10 years experience doing minimally invasive and open surgery. i think i will be a great addition to your team.   

I finished my residency in General Surgery at University of Cincinnati and now I am a board-certified general surgeon in the United States. I moved to Vermont in 2015 and since then I am an assistant professor of the University of Vermont medical Center and I  am the Director of Transplant and hepatobiliary division. Since 2015 I performed more than 100 kidney transplant and more than 1000 Hepatobiliary and general surgery cases. Including laparoscopic and Robotic surgery. I know that my training and skills are enhancing since I started working at UVM. I know that my work ethic and determination, in addition to my transplant, hepatobiliary and general surgery experience, will make me a great addition to your team.

I am a Medical Doctor from Universidad Libre, Cali, Colombia.  I received training in General Surgery at the Evaristo Garcia University Hospital, which is the primary teaching institution of the Universidad Del Valle School of Medicine. This center is the most important referral center for the whole Southeastern region of Colombia. The health institution cares for approximately 7000 trauma patients every year, 80% of which have penetrating injuries caused mainly by gunshot wounds, making the learning experience one of the best in the world.  After finishing the residency program, I worked as a trauma and critical care surgeon for the Fundacion Clinica Valle del Lili for six years.

In 2006 I moved to the United States to continue my training. I took the USMLE exams (step 1, 2, and 3) and then began my transplant surgery training.

I started my transplant training at the University Of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The first year I spent as the pediatric transplant fellow at Children’s hospital of UPMC with Dr. George Mazariegos. After CHP, I completed a year in Adult Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation at Montefiore Hospital of UPMC, under the tutelage of Dr. Ronald Shapiro. In June 2010 I started the Multiorgan Transplant Fellowship here at the University Hospital, University of Cincinnati, with Dr. Steven Woodle and Dr. Amit Tevar. In the past 18 months I have performed more than 50 Liver Transplants, 100 Kidney transplants and 20 Pancreas transplants. This has given me the opportunity to be ASTS certified as a transplant surgeon. . During this fellowship I have also performed many hepato-biliary surgeries, vascular access procedures for dialysis patients, and general surgery cases (lap chole, umbilical hernia repairs, inguinal hernia repairs, ventral hernia repairs) in cirrhotic patients.
