Gary Van Sickle

Over the past couple years, I have moved according to my school schedule, working part-time jobs with full college course loads. When out of classes for the summer and such, I would work full-time jobs to save what I could. There haven't been many times where I haven't been employed, but I have now been unemployed for three weeks, which isn't too fun. I have merchandising and sales experience and many service industry jobs under my belt, whether that be retail or restaurants. 

Union Pub Bar and Grill

Server             Washington, D.C           September 2023-December 2023 Attended to customers’ with their drinks, appetizers, meals, as well as, choice of football game. The bar and grill revolved around football games and football specials.

• Represented the Representative’s office by answering constituent phone calls, recording policy sentiments, and organizing/distributing mail.
• Gave in-depth congressional, capital tours for dozens of native Montanans and constituents.

Helped adjudicate roles/chores and set up for several reserved events.

• Helped customers find specialized boating equipment, and proceeded to check-out their items.
• Managed the fuel dock, bait camp, store and deli, with only one other person as help. Ordered fuel, beer, deli meat, and purchase live bait when inventory was low.
• Spoke to potential marina tenants about the 180+  slips for rental, described the amenities provided throughout the facilities, and even finalized paperwork for any new, incoming tenants.

I went to Texas A&M College Station for two years, and even joined their “Corps” ROTC program. Currently, I'm saving up to finish out my last year for my Bachelor's at Texas State, where I've studied agricultural business and management the last couple years.
