Dear Hiring Director,
I am writing to express my interest in a Nursing position with Cook County. I am committed to a career in patient care and services, which is my reason for applying for this position. In my current role as a COVID-19 Tester, I not only regularly administer COVID-19 tests, often educating patients on the disease and the testing process, but also handle administrative duties such as collecting patient sensitive information, documenting, and completing all related paperwork. The work I do on a daily basis truly affirms my desire to participate in all aspects of patient care.
It is my desire to maintain a career requiring diligence, problem solving, and strong patient-driven care. I have delved into what this sort of pledge looks like through my previous role as a Staff Nurse, where I routinely assisted in medical procedures such as blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, feeding tube care and assistance, nasogastric tube care, and competent oxygen care and administration. I also consistently engaged with patients and families, often assisting them with daily life activities and guiding them through end-of-life care and resources. Through that role, I gained great insight and experience into what it means to be a patient care and service professional in the healthcare system.
I have made it my goal to continuously seek opportunities that allow me to use the full breadth of my skills, while acquiring more along the way. I have achieved these goals through my professional experience. For example, as a Certified Nursing Assistant, I regularly took patient vital signs such as blood pressure, respiration, pulse, and temperature. I also communicated with medical providers to stay up to date with patient care plans. Then as Patient Care Technician, performed nursing procedures such as administering bladder scans and electrocardiography tests. Overall, I am confident that all these experiences have expanded my comprehensive expertise as a nurse.
I hope my commitment to patient health is evident from my work and resume. I am confident that I would be an immediate asset to Cook Country. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future to discuss my qualifications for the position. Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Faija Tasneem
