I have been A NICU nurse for 8 years, and have accumulated a lot of skills that are applicable in other units. Starting IVs, Infusion maintenance, pre-op and post-op care, very detailed patient assessments, monitoring vital signs continuously.

Utilized the nursing process and evidence-based care to provide direct patient centered care of the infant with extreme prematurity, critical illness, and congenital anomalies. Provided coordination of care between multiple medical teams. Preformed medical procedures such as inserting intravenous lines, arterial sticks, lab draws, and phototherapy lights. Assisted providers with procedures such as inserting umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, wound dressings and intubations. Provided care and education to families in a developmentally appropriate and compassionate way.
