Emily Howard

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot! I am a Jack-of-all-trades in so many ways and have enjoyed most of the jobs I have pursued throughout my life. I am quick to learn and enjoy having a kindship with my co-workers. I am independent, but also love working with a team. 

I have over 15 years of experience spanning hospitality, culinary arts, logistics, event management, childcare, and military service. I am currently completing dual bachelor’s degrees in Hotel & Hospitality Management and Communication at the University of New Hampshire, building on my earlier Associate of Arts in Digital Photography from Southern New Hampshire University.

My background includes working as a Junior Sous Chef at the York Harbor Reading Room and as the primary chef for a UNH sorority, where I managed daily food service, menu planning, and high-volume event execution. I also assisted in culinary instruction at UNH and successfully led multi-course events, showcasing both leadership and technical expertise. In addition, I have worked as an Event and Sales Associate for The Spicy Shark, coordinating vendor relationships, inventory, and live events, while managing financial transactions and customer service.

Previously, I served as a Supply & Logistics Manager and Contract Lodging & Travel Manager at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where I handled large-scale scheduling, inventory control, vendor relations, and cost-saving process improvements. My 10 years in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain’s Mate gave me extensive leadership experience, including supervising over 100 sailors, managing storerooms and supplies, and coordinating more than 450 military funerals across three states as Funeral Honors Coordinator. I was recognized with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for my contributions.

I have also provided consistent childcare for multiple families, including children with developmental and mental disabilities, where I created structured, nature-based learning environments and demonstrated patience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills.

I am recognized for my organizational skills, leadership, and ability to manage complex operations under pressure. I thrive in fast-paced environments that require multitasking, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving.

I recently completed dual bachelor’s degrees at the University of New Hampshire, earning a BS in Hotel & Hospitality Management and a BA in Communication, graduating in May 2025 with a 3.55 GPA. Before that, I earned an Associate of Arts in Digital Photography from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021, graduating with a 3.87 GPA. My education has given me a strong foundation in hospitality leadership, communication strategy, and creative visual design.
