Ellery Schindler
Accounting / Finance
About Ellery Schindler:
I’m a Finance major at Loyola Marymount University (College of Business Administration) with a minor in Economics. Interned as a Marketing Intern at Compensation Advisory Partners (CAP), a firm specializing in corporate governance and executive compensation consulting. Through this role, I’ve contributed to projects such as updating the firm’s careers page, while gaining valuable exposure to how consulting firms operate behind the scenes and how governance considerations intersect with financial decision-making.
In parallel with my professional experience, I’ve completed Bloomberg certifications in Finance Fundamentals, Market Concepts, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), as well as Wharton School specializations in Introduction to Finance and Accounting and Business and Financial Modeling. These programs strengthened my foundation in financial statement analysis, valuation, capital budgeting, and Excel-based financial modeling, and reinforced the importance of governance and risk considerations in assessing firm value.
As a result of these experiences, I’ve pivoted away from marketing and am now focused on building technical skills in Excel, financial modeling, M&A, and portfolio management. I’m actively looking into career paths in corperate or investment banking, and asset & wealth management, and I plan to pursue an MBA later on, to further develop my expertise and leadership capabilities within the financial industry.
