I studied Computer Science at Borough of Manhattan Community College, where I earned an Associate in Science degree. It was pretty intense—we dug into how computers actually work, from programming to algorithms to the nuts and bolts of systems. The whole deal was set up to either get you ready for a four-year school or to start working in tech right away. I liked that it was hands-on but also big on theory. BMCC’s got these cool transfer deals with places like John Jay and Mercy College, which made it easier to plan my next move. Plus, being in NYC, there were tons of chances to connect with tech stuff outside class. They even had this Career Coach tool to figure out jobs. Honestly, it was a solid, affordable way to get into coding and tech without feeling locked in."
