About Diamonique smith:
Hello! I’m Davis, and I’m thrilled to be pursuing the opportunity to serve. With a master’s degree in Sports Administration, paired with extensive experience in NCAA athletics, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic landscape of collegiate sports.
Over the years, I have cultivated a deep passion for fostering an environment where student-athletes can excel both on the field and in the classroom. My knowledge of NCAA regulations and compliance, paired with a strong ability to lead teams, drive program development, and build successful athletic departments, has shaped my approach to leadership. I am committed to creating a culture of integrity, accountability, and excellence, while ensuring that the student-athletes are well supported and encouraged to reach their highest potential.
My experience spans working with a diverse range of sports programs, collaborating with coaching staff, and overseeing day-to-day operations, all while ensuring that every decision aligns with the institution’s values and goals. I thrive in creating effective strategies for recruitment, fundraising, community engagement, and ensuring compliance with NCAA guidelines.
Experience
I bring a diverse and well-rounded background in sports administration, highlighted by my current role as an Athletic Director. In this position, I oversee all aspects of athletic programs, focusing on student-athlete development, program management, compliance, and strategic growth. I’ve successfully led teams, facilitated fundraising initiatives, and strengthened community engagement, all while ensuring NCAA compliance.
Additionally, I have experience as a Director of Service, where I was responsible for improving athlete services and enhancing the overall experience for both student-athletes and staff. My time as an intern in the communications department for the Chicago Sky WNBA team provided valuable insights into sports media relations, public relations strategies, and fan engagement.
Together, these roles have honed my leadership, communication, and operational skills, making me well-equipped to drive success in any athletic department.
Education
I hold a Master's degree in Sports Administration, which has provided me with a strong foundation in sports management, leadership, and NCAA compliance. My coursework focused on athletic program development, organizational leadership, and strategic planning within the sports industry. This advanced education has equipped me with the critical skills necessary to effectively manage and lead athletic departments, as well as the knowledge to navigate the complexities of collegiate sports and administration.
