About Annie Uy:

Hello,

I am a First-generation college graduate and daughter of refugees committed to working with integrity, kindness, and adaptability in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all. I am thrilled to embark on a new chapter in my professional journey and return to my passion for clerical support. With an unprecedented blend of experiences, including managing a family-owned donut shop business for 9 years and serving as a Student Assistant for the inaugural Department of Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers at California State University, Fullerton, I bring a wealth of skills and perspectives to the table.

With 3 years of experience as a Student Assistant, I had the privilege of contributing to the establishment and growth of the department. My experience within the inaugural department afforded me the opportunity to acquire invaluable knowledge and skills, which have been instrumental in advancing my professional capabilities. This experience not only honed my administrative abilities but also deepened my commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. I actively supported programming, events, and outreach efforts aimed at fostering an inclusive academic community, further refining my organizational skills and interpersonal abilities.

My experience in managing a small business has equipped me with invaluable skills that optimally translate to clerical work. From overseeing daily operations and managing finances to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining meticulous records, I have honed my ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Moreover, I have developed a keen sense of initiative, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions. This experience has also reinforced the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Whether working alongside family members, colleagues, or diverse student populations, I understand the value of effective communication, cooperation, and mutual support. I am excited to bring this collaborative spirit to your team, contributing positively to our collective goals while encouraging a conducive environment.

While my journey has taken me down various paths, my passion for administrative support and commitment to excellence have remained unwavering. I am eager to contribute positively to a community, leveraging my experiences and skills to help achieve collective goals.

Experience

  • Director of Operations at The Jelly Donut: From August 2015 to May 2024, I was at the helm of operations for The Jelly Donut. Alongside overseeing employee schedules, payroll, and financial transactions, I have diligently handled administrative tasks crucial to our business's success. From maintaining business records to coordinating logistics with servicing companies, distributors, landlords, and property management, I have ensured that our day-to-day operations run smoothly. Moreover, my commitment to providing warm, personalized customer service has contributed to positive customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Education and Programs Intern at Orange County Alzheimer’s Association: During my internship from January 2015 to May 2015, I supported the Orange County Alzheimer’s Association in various capacities. In addition to digitizing artwork for the "Memories in the Making" program and providing logistical support for educational events, I also assisted with administrative duties. These included organizing program materials, managing participant registrations, and maintaining records to ensure the efficient execution of Alzheimer's awareness initiatives.
  • Student Assistant at Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers, California State University, Fullerton: From March 2012 to June 2015, I served as a student assistant at California State University, Fullerton's Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers. In addition to collaborating with various university departments and organizations to offer robust academic programming, I took charge of numerous administrative tasks. These ranged from maintaining calendars and scheduling appointments to handling correspondence and analyzing program data to inform future initiatives. Additionally, I played a key role in developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase student engagement and promote inclusive well-being.
  • Youth Programs Intern at Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA): During my internship from September 2011 to April 2012, I supported high school students' educational pursuits at the Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Community Alliance. I collaborated closely with mentors, peers, and OCAPICA to support the educational endeavors of high school students. Alongside facilitating workshops and providing mentorship, our team assumed administrative responsibilities to ensure the seamless operation of youth programs. Together, we organized program materials, coordinated participant activities, and maintained meticulous program records to track student progress and program impact. Moreover, our collective efforts led to the planning and execution of a college tour at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) for high school students. This collaborative initiative aimed to expose students to higher education opportunities and foster their aspirations for academic advancement. Furthermore, we coordinated their participation in an Asian American Studies class lecture, providing them with a culturally enriching educational experience.
