David Salmela

Technology and data leader experienced in building and leading teams in data modernization, the development of data science practices, data strategy, data infrastructure, and data products for some of the world's top tech organizations. I have extensive experience with cloud architecture, data modeling, mining, and big data. I enjoy collaborating across teams to find opportunities for actionable and valuable data capabilities.

My software development background morphed into a Big Data + Data Science background about 10 years ago when I obtained a Graduate Certificate in Data Mining and Applications. I spent the next 5 years consulting in the Bay Area, helping organizations modernize data infrastructures to make data actionable.  I had the opportunity to work with notable leaders in cloud data modernization and analytics space for companies like Apple, Okta, Flipboard, Nordstrom and CBS Sports.
