Danielle McCall

I am an Occupational Therapist from Quinnipiac University. I have completed several fieldwork experiences, which have allowed me to further develop my skillset and knowledge. These experiences include facilitating social-emotional groups at a preschool setting and completing evaluations and functional treatment sessions, including a neurological rehabilitation focus, at an inpatient subacute/acute rehab care setting and an outpatient adult day care setting. These experiences have taught me valuable lessons that will translate to my career as an OT. I am seeking an entry-level inpatient acute/subacute rehab position in the NJ/NY area. I have experience working with adults who have varying diagnoses including strokes, TBI, musculoskeletal disorders, s/p surgery, and more. 

I am looking for employment that will support my professional and personal development. My educational and fieldwork opportunities have furthered my passion for helping patients achieve their goals and I am looking forward to reflecting this dedication in my Occupational Therapy career!

Clinical Experience:

Fieldwork Level II Experiences

Prestige Rehabilitation - Matawan Adult Day Care, Matawan, NJ   September – Dec. 2022

• Adult Day Program – Outpatient Setting: Created individualized and group interventions for older adults with varying disabilities and physical impairments. Functional interventions aimed to increase strength, range of motion, engagement in desired ADLs and IADLs, safety, and enhance independence for the patients in their natural contexts. Completed standardized assessments to monitor progress throughout the intervention process and documented daily, weekly, re-certification, progress, and discharge notes. Provided educational handouts to enhance carryover from therapy services and advocated for required durable medical equipment within insurance boundaries to RN and MD.

Fatima Hospital, Rehabilitation Center, Providence, RI                   May – August 2022

• Subacute Rehabilitation & Acute Care Setting: Worked with a variety of populations including individuals who experienced a stroke, TBI, orthopedic injuries, hip and knee replacements, and more. Therapy services focused on purposeful physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation with education to prepare patients for success in their discharge environments. Administered standardized cognitive/ADL/IADL assessments, documented evaluations, as well as completed daily, weekly, and discharge notes.

YMCA Preschool, Waterbury, CT                                                      May – June 2021

• Mental Health Fieldwork: Worked with preschool students, ranging from 2-5 years old. Ran daily groups focused on social emotional wellbeing with subjects such as recognizing and understanding emotions, social skills, and relaxation strategies. Developed a program for the schoolteachers to implement in following years. This program was centralized around the sessions and themes implemented throughout the Level II Fieldwork experience; handouts were provided to staff with classroom strategies.
