Daniel Bass

Outside of school I am a part time employee at HEB. In my cross-function role, I assess acceptance sampling for returned goods before they are put back on the shelves, optimizing product flow and improving inventory accuracy. I lead in re-stocking over 100 returned products daily, saving up to $1,000 a week through efficient processes.

As a cashier I maintain lean efficiency for each customer by using the IPM method, scanning at least 30 items per minute to complete orders effectively and on time. I manage payment processing for over 200 orders daily, ensuring accurate charges, and handle reverse logistics by receiving returned products and reimbursing customers accordingly. 

As a junior at the University of Houston majoring in Supply Chain Management, I am passionate about streamlining processes and driving efficiency across supply chain operations. My active involvement in the Sourcing and Procurement Organization (SPO) on campus has provided me with valuable insights into various facets of the supply chain industry, while also enhancing my professional skills. 

In my third year at The University of Houston I am currently taking a class called statistical analysis for business applications, through this course I have learned how to summarize and interpret large data sets to understand relationships between variables, which can aid in forecasting and decision-making. This class has made me realize how much I enjoy data analytics and the endless potential it will bring to my career in supply chain.
