Collin Johnston

I am a board-certified family practice physician and spent my first nine years out of residency working in the urgent care setting in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have held many roles, including staff physician, clinic medical director, as well as market medical director for the Las Vegas area. I relocated to Phoenix Arizona in 2021 and became certified by the American Board of Venuos and Lymphatic Medicine to treat medically incompetent varicose veins and have been doing this for the last 2.5 years.  I am currently interested in finding a part-time urgent care job that I can work evenings and weekends in the greater Phoenix area, preferably in the East Valley.  I am typically done with my normal workday around 4:30 PM and I’m open to covering evenings as well as weekends.  I have many years working in high-volume urgent care centers, and am comfortable with any and all procedures typically seen in urgent care setting.

I completed residency training in 2012 through the University of Reno School of Medicine Family Medicine Las Vegas program.  I worked for University Medical Center Urgent Care centers for approximately 2 years and then joined with a new urgent care company, Urgent Care Extra, in 2014.  That company was purchased by Hospital Corporation of America and renamed Care Now Urgent care in 2016.  At that time I was placed in the regional medical director role for the Las Vegas area in charge of the training of new physiciana and advanced practice practitioners, was responsible for the medical policies and procedures in the clinics, and helped with the further expansion of the urgent care’s relationships with other local medical entities.

In 2021, I pursued a change of careers and joined a colleague in PhoEnid, AZ who had started his own vein treatment center.  I trained with him for 6 months and sat for a board exam to become certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and have been diagnosing and treating medical venous insufficiency since then. 
My schedule Monday through Friday is very predictable, typically done with patients by 4:30pm.  Additionally, I do not work any weekends.  I am interested in looking for part time urgent care opportunities with evening and weekend coverage needs.  I am extremely motivated to pick up shifts and do miss the pace and variety that urgent care offers.
