Kirsten Bassett

I graduated from The University of Arizona in May of 2022 with a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering. I diversified my undergraduate degree by minoring in Electrical & Computer Engineering. I have strong leadership skills, I led a team of interdisciplinary engineers throughout 2.5 years and presented to crowds in the hundreds. I read non-fiction business related books to continuously learn the benefits of other's experiences to apply to my own life and way of doing things. 

While I was working on my master's, I co-founded a medical device startup called ‘Jackson Medical Solutions’. I took on a business development role because I naturally understand how to relay highly technical information to layman's terms. I developed the investor materials, managed the budget and drafted pro formas to further relay the investment opportunities. I was involved in the prototyping and designing of the pressure management and bed exit device. I began to instill Six Sigma product development processes to further capitalize on our lean business model. After 2.5 years of being involved in the startup environment, I am looking to return to engineering pursuits. 

I received my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Electrical & Computer Engineering in May of 2021. In the following year, I received my M.S. in Biomedical Engineering after an accelerated course of studies I qualified for and began during my undergraduate career. I completed research in two labs, one on campus at The University of Arizona, the other in Aachen, Germany, over the course of a summer abroad.
