About Chrisalys McMillan:
I am an AVP of AML Compliance at Wedbush Securities, where I perform regulatory governance functions and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering laws and regulations. My studies were completed from Fordham University School of Law, with a focus on corporate compliance.
With over seven years of experience in the compliance field, I have developed skills in EDD/CCD, onboarding KYC processing, client assessment, risk enterprise management, data analytic research, due diligence screening, SARs/CTRs, privacy security data, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting. I have led and supported multiple projects and initiatives to enhance internal key controls, improve quality assurance procedures, and strengthen operations for banking and brokerage firms. For example, I was the lead program manager for a fintech organization's compliance payments team, where I ensured daily product launches met quality standards. I also provided EDD guidance for a global investment bank's wealth management team, where I corrected client discrepancies for high-risk customers.
I am passionate about expanding my knowledge and expertise in the compliance domain, and I welcome opportunities to network, collaborate, and exchange ideas with other professionals and students in the field. I also enjoy mentoring and coaching law students who are exploring careers in the financial sector and fintech industry. I believe that compliance is not only a regulatory requirement, but also a strategic advantage that can create value and trust for customers and stakeholders.
