Chauntee McKay

Hello. I have been in the social work field for over 10 years. I am all about helping others and making their lives easier. I enjoy creating spreadsheets, completing paperwork, and making sure the office is good. 

I currently assist homeless veterans with finding and obtaining permanent housing. I assist veterans with rental arrears when they are facing eviction, so that they do not become homeless. I do case management and keep all paper and electronic files up-to-date. I have also created excel spreadsheets for data tracking. I created a job cheat sheet to assist our new hires with how to navigate the systems we use to input our data. 

I was an assessment worker for DCS for 2 years in Marion County and for 6 months in Hendricks County. I conducted investigations of the allegations called into the Indiana Child Abuse/Neglect Hotline. I did case management, removal of children, completed court documents, completed CANS, and helped train new hires.

I worked for a year at the Indiana Child Abuse/Neglect Hotline. I took calls from individuals and professionals that are calling in to report allegations of child abuse/neglect. I used my training and professional experience to determine if there is enough information to send for assessment or if it had to be screened out, due to lack of allegation or demographic information. I typed up the report and sent it to the respective county where the family resides or where the incident occurred.
