Ben Dries

My name is Ben. I was home-schooled and am currently a student at Kishwaukee College studying to get my associate degree. Currently, I am still undecided on a college major. Formerly, I was a line/fry cook at the Dirty Bird Chicken Joint in Sycamore, Illinois. I enjoyed my year-long employment at the Dirty Bird. However, school responsibilities forced me to end my employment. I look forward to all the exciting and future possibilities in store for me.

I have been working for my family’s business since mid April. My responsibilities include typing and logging of revenue into Excel, filing of bills, invoices, and receipts in an organized and efficient manner, and other office responsibilities. I also previously worked at the Dirty Bird Chicken Joint in downtown Sycamore as a line cook.  My responsibilities included cleaning fryers, grills, and walls. I was responsible for cooking at the grill, fry-cooking, and stocking the grill refrigerator. Not only was I responsible for cooking the food, I was required to plate and present the best possible representation of the menu items. Communicating clearly with the owner and facility manager regarding items that were needed in our weekly orders, was paramount to my position. I also worked closely with the other cook as well as the facility manager to process orders during high volume hours, various supply issues, and any remaining tasks. 

My currently completed classes at Kish are Workplace Communications 108 taught by professor Weibel as well as learning Spanish through Kishwaukee by professor Moriarty. I have also been nominated for The National Society of Leadership and Success. Graduation date hopefully will be in 2025 if all goes well
