Ben Litvak-Hinenzon

I'm a high school student that is about to graduate. I will be a freshman at Williams College in the fall where I plan to double major in Psychology and Neuroscience on a pre-med track. I am originally from Israel but have been living in the U.S. since 2011. In my free time, I love to play tennis and the guitar, kayak, listen to classic rock music, and hang out with my dogs!

Internships & Volunteering:

Boston Children's Hospital (My TRaCh Research): In this internship, I helped with database organizational work and packaging materials for research about the microbiome of the lungs.

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston: In this internship, I observed an ophthalmologist.

BVR CAMPUS: In this volunteer position I helped my school's buildings and groups team over the summer. I helped clean, build, and fix up the campus so it is ready for the upcoming school year.

Extracurriculars:

TEDx (Head of TEDx & Speaker Manager): In my leadership position, I worked to plan the program, develop the theme for the event, and helped speakers prepare for their presentations.

Recipient of the Alex Cohn Grant: I was selected as the recipient of a grant to create a tiny sustainable produce farm in my backyard. I donated my grown produce to local food banks.

Model UN: I work with club members to prepare for conferences where we compete in simulated UN experiences. I won best delegate at CAMUN.

First Generation Immigrants Affinity Group (Founder and Leader): As a first-generation immigrant, I initiated this program, so that there would be a safe space to express lived experiences, and share concerns.

Student Council (Class Representative): I work with my peers to plan class meetings and all school events, with the goal of building community spirit. We also shape school policy.

Fencing Team (Member & Captain): I am a saber fencer both for Beaver and Dynamo. I've enjoyed developing leadership skills and experiencing a sense of camaraderie with the team.

BVR Connects (Advisory Board Member, & President): Running this program entails planning events, giving tours, and providing support to new students as they transition to Beaver.
