Austin Baltes

I recently graduated from Texas A&M with my masters and bachelors in mechanical engineering. in college my coursework focused primarily on robotics and computed aided design. I am looking for a full-time engineering position.

I worked for two summers on a research team at the Texas A&M Robotics Automation and Design Lab to develop a robotic system that deployed a smaller robot off the back of a military Polaris. The team designed, constructed, and tested several iterations of the robot over the course of the two summers. My contributions to the team included:

• 3D-modeled the main components of the loading tray, electronics box, and tray housing, as well as making other design edits 
• Participated in design reviews with members of NASA’s JSC
• Conducted finite element analysis and physical stress tests
• Developed a modular system to allow us to intake a spherical robot 
• Developed a guiding system for treaded robots
• Fabricated numerous parts on the CNC router
• Developed and tested multiple robot-mounting solutions inside our housing unit for quadruped robots

I completed my non-thesis masters in mechanical engineering at Texas A&M in may of 2025. My masters coursework focused primarily on robotics and computer aided design. 

Previously, I also completed my bachelors in mechanical engineering in May of 2024. With this degree I also completed a minor in film studies.
