April Kirker

I'm a respiratory therapist with 12 years of experience in the profession. I have experienced many areas within the respiratory field but developed my strongest skills in the critical care setting. I have obtained my Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness to better serve my community in health education and improving overall wellness. 

I have worked as a respiratory therapist for 12 years. Within those 12 years I have worked in medical floor therapy, critical care, long-term care, rehabilitation therapy, team leadership and some minimal pediatric respiratory care.  I am familiar with various types of respiratory equipment and therapies to treat multiple respiratory needs and conditions. 

My most relevant education experience would be the insertion of arterial lines in patients during on one of my travel assignments. The skills developed during this experience include the insertion of the art line, stabilizing and securing the line, making sure the procedure remains sterile, and completing the set up to the art line in order to monitor the arterial pressures.
