Angela Upton

I am a native English speaker with outgoing attributes that have assisted me in the development of my career and furthering my achievements in life. Creativity, initiative, organization, and enthusiasm are part of my daily life and I desire to continue to expand those attributes in Japan with children and adults by helping them learn English, and in turn learning more advanced Japanese, in a fun and efficient environment.

Assisted the Japanese Public School System with class preparation and lessons for adequately teaching English as a second language. Collaborated with Japanese teachers and Borderlink to bridge discussions of the best methods of teaching to reach each school’s goals. Represented Borderlink as the face of the company and English language education. 

Worked closely with Japanese and fellow English speaking teachers to create lesson plans and activities for preschool, kindergarten and elementary students to comprehend and be immersed in an English speaking environment. Spearheaded many cultural activities throughout the year to expose students to American life and holidays. Maintained and improved  relationships with the students’ parents and local community.

Obtained four year college degree in 2007 and completed a TEFL certificate in 2017 before moving to Japan between 2018-2020.
