Amrita Neogi

I am an adaptable Data Science masters student with interests in predictive modeling, data processing and data visualization. I have working experience as Extract Transfer and Load (ETL) developer in Information Technology Industry, where I have worked on developing codes, optimization and refinement of databases for US financial service companies to safeguard personally identifiable information. As a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Pediatrics at my university, I have gained extensive experience in data analysis and management. I specialize in working with incomplete and unstructured data to draw insights and make recommendations. I am highly skilled in using various data analysis tools such as R, Python, MS Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
I seek to work in an environment that will challenge me, while allowing me to contribute to the continued growth and success of the organization.

As a Graduate Research Assistant, I am responsible for extracting data from various sources, managing data queries, executing data cleaning, and data linkage pipeline protocols, and building project databases in REDCap. I also maintain detailed work logs describing replicable data cleaning and variable creation steps.

During my time at Tata Consultancy Services, I was responsible for various ETL processes, including extracting, transforming, and loading data using Informatica PowerCenter 9.x. I developed ETL mappings, worklets, mapplets, reusable transformations, and parameter files, optimized performance, identified bottlenecks, and conducted performance tuning for long-running CI/CD jobs. Additionally, I was involved in database object migration, documentation, project tracking, and leadership by providing technical guidance, mentoring junior developers, and training them on ETL development methodologies.

Overall, I gained experience with data extraction, management, and cleaning, ETL development, data modeling, and data integration concepts. I gained experience in various software, tools, and programming languages, including Informatica PowerCenter 9.x, UNIX, shell scripting, PLSQL, and Subversion. I also exhibited strong leadership skills by mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance.
 

I am currently pursuing a Masters in Data Science and have achieved a 4 GPA on a scale of 4 in my first semester. I have completed various courses that cover fundamental topics such as data analysis, machine learning, data mining and discovery, ethical issues in information, artificial intelligence, information research methods, and statistical natural language processing. Through these courses, I have gained expertise in various analytical techniques and learned how to implement them effectively. These skills will enable me to become a valuable asset to any organization that deals with data-driven decision-making.
