Ahsan Naveed Cheema

I am an international LLM graduate from the University of Illinois and an Illinois Bar Candidate in February 2024. I graduated in Law from Pakistan and acquired my master’s degree in government & public policy there as well. I have been a trial and appellate attorney in my home country for more than a decade and Deputy Registrar (Judicial)/Administrative Officer for the highest labor adjudication body for more than half a decade. I helped my Seniors to create new posts of staff and officers and trained them. I have trialed, investigated, and adjudicated hundreds of cases of labor & employment violations.

 I served as Secretary General of the International Student Association (ISA) at UIUC Law School. Now I am serving as a member of the UIUC Senate Committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. My research interests mainly include labor & employment laws, standards &regulations, and workforce welfare & development. I am also trained in Anti Money Laundering (AML) by the World Bank and in labor economics and empirical analysis, design and evaluation by National Defence University and National Industrial Relations commission. I plan to put my skills and energy into the development of the Illinois workforce. So, it will be a great opportunity to understand American Jurisprudence, culture and folks.
