About Adriana Sousa:

My name is Adriana da Silva Sousa, I’m 22 years old and I recently graduated from University of Porto, Portugal. I have a bachelors degree(4 years) in Nutrition and Food Science and I’m a passionate about health and sustainability.

Having already completed my curricular internship in a food company, I know that it is an area of many challenges. The areas of Research & Development and Food Marketing are my areas of greatest preference: being able to idealize, innovate and develop products, always keeping abreast of trends and combining it with Science as well as the possibility of communicating about food and health. Also food quality, review and validation of labels and Front of Package (FOP) are areas in which I am very interested in.

In addition, I like projects that allow me to combine nutrition with sustainability.

I have an outgoing personality and I am very communicative building strong interpersonal relationships easily. I like team work, I am very flexible, resilient and I love to learn. In addition to this, I find it easy to manage my time and priorities well.

I’m looking for a job that allows me to not only share my knowledge but also to learn new things with other professionals.

Experience

I did an internship in a huge beverage company in the Research & Development and Product Innovation departments.  I focused on global trends and tried to innovate with new products that respond to these new consumer wants and needs always having sustainability in mind. I did market analysis to perceive what products already exist and consumer analysis to define targets. Besides this I worked a lot with the Regulatory Affairs team (Food safety, Claims, Front Of Package, Nutrition Information…).

Education

I recently graduated in Nutrition and Food Science (4 years degree). I learned about diverse areas such as Clinical Nutrition, Food Marketing, Food Politics, Food Microbiology, Food Tech, Food Safety and Food Quality, Food Toxicology, Pharmacodynamics, Biochemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology.
