Description
Specialist Deep Foundation Builder (m/f/d)

Specialist deep foundation builders create particularly stable or complex foundations for large structures such as bridges or high-rise buildings. They take soil samples through drilling, analyze them for their composition, and plan their work accordingly. They drill and install anchoring systems that are tailored to the soil's load-bearing capacity, and then construct the foundations on top. If groundwater seeps into deep excavations or bridge foundations, they ensure drainage. They secure existing buildings against subsidence by installing so-called underpinnings that support the building. They also secure slopes against sliding by drilling and injecting concrete into the boreholes. In tunnel construction, specialist deep foundation builders use tunneling machines to dig into the interior of mountains. They may also work in well construction to extract groundwater.

Training Location

Training takes place at the vocational school, training center, and on construction sites throughout the country.
