Butlertown, MD is currently seeking a Scientist / Postdoc to join our team at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association.

We have strong partnerships with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin at the joint Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC) and the Berlin Institute of Health, as well as the German Center for Cardiovascular Research.

The MDC employs 1600 people and is funded 90% by the federal government and 10% by the state of Berlin.

We are currently seeking a Veterinarian / Animal Welfare Officer to join our team and support our animal care efforts.

Your responsibilities:

Member of the veterinary team
Acting as the Animal Welfare Officer
Conducting inspections of animal housing areas and animal experiments
Providing expert advice and support to scientists conducting animal experiments regarding application and execution
Communicating with authorities and writing statements as the Animal Welfare Officer
Veterinary care and health monitoring of the animal population (primarily rodents)
Supporting animal care and welfare training and education for animal caretakers and scientists
