Butlertown, MD is currently seeking a Scientist / Postdoc to join our team at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association.

As one of the leading biomedical research centers in the world, our researchers from over 60 countries at our locations in Berlin-Buch and Mitte are dedicated to understanding the human body - from its smallest building blocks to its complex mechanisms.

We have strong partnerships with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin at the joint Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC) and the Berlin Institute of Health, as well as the German Center for Cardiovascular Research.

We are currently seeking a Veterinarian / Animal Welfare Officer to join our team and support our animal care efforts.


Your responsibilities:


  • Member of the veterinary team
  • Acting as the Animal Welfare Officer
  • Conducting inspections of animal housing areas and animal experiments
  • Providing expert advice and support to scientists conducting animal experiments regarding application and execution
  • Communicating with authorities and writing statements as the Animal Welfare Officer
  • Veterinary care and health monitoring of the animal population (primarily rodents)
  • Supporting animal care and welfare training and education for animal caretakers and scientists
