The Team You'll Work With
The Senior Advisor to the Mayor was positioned in New York City to promote the well-being of New

York City's communities to the Mayor. To achieve this, the Senior Advisor serves as a bridge between

city government and various communities; advises and assists the mayor in developing and

implementing policies and programs designed to assist communities and civilians; he supports and

enhances the ability of city agencies to assist communities city-wide.


The Problems You'll Solve
The Senior Advisor to the Mayor is looking for a Director of Special Projects. Under the direction of the

Senior Advisor, the Director of Special Projects will be responsible for supporting and leading the

Senior Advisor in initiatives that impact New Yorkers. Initiative Management - In coordination with

appropriate City agencies and team members, oversee and monitoring capital projects, transactions,

operations, and policy initiatives to ensure that goals and timelines are met.

Job duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in managing and directing administrative and/or operational activities for the Director
of Special Projects.

  • Supporting the short
- and long-term tasks of the Senior Advisor, including but not limited to

community events, interagency cases, and other programs.

  • Coordinating and attending community organization site visits for the Senior Advisor.
  • Leading on and supporting administrative tasks for the Senior Advisor and other teams as
assigned.

  • Overseeing the implementation of various management controls to increase the efficiency and
effectiveness of administrative activities across teams.

  • Manage projects in various areas by planning, implementing, establishing KPIs, and following
up.

  • Providing additional support as necessary.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in increasingly responsible administrative positions in
academia, business, government, communications, or related area.

  • Familiarity with higher education and with current domestic and international relations policy
issues is highly desirable.

  • Experience in project management.
  • Government experience and/or familiarity with local government.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate special events and travel
requirements.


Salary
The City of New York Office of the Mayor's compensation package includes a market competitive

salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role

is
$120,000 to $130,000.
