If you are passionate about art and culture, then join the Germanisches Nationalmuseum (GNM) starting September 1, 2024 as the leader of a junior research group (m/f/d) in the field of "Museum and Collecting in the 21st Century".
This is a full-time position, salary group 14 TV-L, and is initially limited to four years.
Your responsibilities will include leading the junior research group (consisting of two doctoral candidates, E 13 / 65%, and assistants) and conducting your own research projects in the aforementioned field.
Additionally, you will contribute to knowledge transfer and help establish (inter)national networks and collaborations, such as organizing scientific conferences, inviting international museum experts and guest researchers for research stays and lectures.
You will also develop new project ideas and participate in the acquisition of third-party funding.In addition to your enthusiasm for art and culture, you should possess the following qualifications:
- An above-average completed doctorate in a relevant field (e.g. art history, cultural studies) or in another area of the humanities or arts/cultural sciences/cultural management
- At least two years of research experience as a postdoctoral researcher or professional experience in researchbased museum practice (e.g. internship), ideally at the intersection of objectbased research and academic discourse
