Job Summary and Qualifications:
The Division Vice President of Nursing Operations establishes systems and processes for measuring, improving and reporting on operational performance. In addition, the Director oversees agency usage and flexible staffing options within all St. David's Healthcare facilities. This role provides consultation and education to the Division CNO Council. This position provides leadership for administering and planning centralized nursing scheduling and nursing market float pool system wide.
As a function of the Market Float Pool, the Vice President will oversee nursing staffing ratios, productivity targets and benchmarking for the system as well as provide education and training as directed by the Chief Nurse Executive.
Ensures efficient and effective deployment of nursing initiatives and processes and acts as key interface for cross-functional initiatives and responsibilities (e.g., staffing and scheduling, recruiting, etc.) This position will also be responsible for other operational projects as appropriate as well as facilitating and supporting the System Professional Practice Council.
- Directs all Central Nursing Scheduling functions system wide
- Directs and oversees float resources across the system
- Oversees nursing agency usage systemwide
- Evaluates ongoing productivity targets and benchmarks
- Recommends staffing adjustments as necessary
- Monitors staffing/scheduling practices and patterns and reports findings to Nurse Executive team
- Responsible for the hiring, orientation, education and evaluation of market float pool staff
- Responsible for creating enhancement in operations and directing projects
- Supports market wide processes to support professional nurse practice and professionalism.
- Coordinates with the management engineer to develop and oversee the nurse staffing, scheduling and workload systems for the Market.
- Prioritizes potential initiatives to ensure maximum benefit and utilization of financial and personnel resources.
