- The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City's evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully reenter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 9,000 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts. Job Description
- Review timekeeping documents and actions.
- Provide excellent customer service by troubleshooting time and leave issues submitted by uniformed and civilian employees.
- Post and approve transactions in CityTime, the City's timekeeping system, in accordance with set deadlines.
- Coordinate with multiple facilities to receive reports and clarity on submitted time related materials.
- Run and review system reports on time and pay activity and adjust course as needed.
- Confirm new hires, transfers and separating staff reflect accurately in CityTime system.
- Ensure time and leave transactions in CityTime cascaded properly into the Payroll system.
- Assist agency staff in understanding citywide and agency rules and procedures related to timekeeping.
- Ensure all activity undertaken are in full compliance with applicable laws, rules, policies, standards, and protocols.
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills RequirementKeyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
