Student Assistant (m/f/d/k.
A.) for Media Module

to join the "National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa)" as soon as possible.

DeZIM is a non-university research institute established in 2017 in the field of migration and integration.

As a federal research institution, it is responsible for research and development tasks in the areas of family, gender equality, children and youth, seniors, and civic engagement policies.

In this role, you will work on the "Media Monitor" project of the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa). The project combines a computer-assisted, quantitative content analysis with qualitative approaches of manual content analysis.

It examines online racism in social media, classifying content according to a coding scheme and analyzing social media metrics and networks.


Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in social sciences or related disciplines
  • Interest in the topic of racism and knowledge of racism research
  • Interest in digitalization, social media, and online hate speech
  • Experience with quantitative content analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of R is an advantage
  • Excellent German language skills, multilingualism is a plus
  • Enjoyment of academic work
  • Teamwork, flexibility, and organizational skills
