  • Our client is currently seeking a motivated Patent Paralegal (m/f/d) to join their team in Dakota City, IA.

Responsibilities:

  • Independent and responsible handling of formalities related to domestic and foreign intellectual property rights (patents, utility models, trademarks, and designs) from application to grant/registration
  • Maintenance of intellectual property rights (annual fees/renewal fees)
  • Oral and written correspondence with inventors/departments/legal departments (internal) and patent law firms/service providers (external) in domestic and foreign markets
  • Support of colleagues, especially in obtaining intellectual property rights and processing employee invention compensation
  • Assistance with general organizational tasks

Profile:

  • Completed vocational training as a patent or legal assistant (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification and several years of experience in the field of industrial property law (e.g. in a patent department)
  • Ideally, knowledge of common patent office programs such as DPMAdirektPro, Epoline, ePCT, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Fluent in German and good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong team and communication skills, as well as customer orientation
  • Strong ability to work accurately, diligently, independently, and in a structured manner
