Base Salary:

$77,870.00


Performance Pay:

Available annually


New hire experience:

$500 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience


New hire education:

$65/hour of graduate level credits:
MA +60 hours

max $1000 for advanced degrees (PhD. or Ed.
D.)


Class/Calendar:

Certified Exempt, 191 workdays

OVERVIEW:


The BCBA is designated to work with school teams for behavioral and instructional support to maximize student achievement and social emotional growth.

The role of the BCBA is to affect behavior change and provide systemic training, support, and oversight in the implementation of behavior strategies and intervention plans.

The BCBA also supports the Systems and Practices of schools and the district, including MTSS and PBIS.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or other related field;
  • Completion of a BCBA approved course sequence in applied behavior analysis;
  • Extensive knowledge in the areas of autism, behavior disorders, behavior management and behavioral intervention techniques
  • State licensed Behavior Analyst (Arizona State Board of Psychologists Examiners)
  • National Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred;
  • Two years working with students with behavioral needs preferred
  • Proficient in providing appropriate evidencebased academic, social and behavioral interventions
  • Skills in coaching, facilitating, and implementing systems change
  • Ability to develop and deliver professional development for teachers and instructional assistants
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with parents and district personnel at all levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective professional relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, students

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Observe students who are having problem behavior or are at risk of problem behavior in their educational environment
  • Collect Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence (ABC) data to hypothesize function of behavior
  • Build relationship and trust with students
  • Work directly with individual and/or small groups of students in and out of class to decrease problem behavior or risk of problem behavior
  • Create and implement Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (PBIP) with student (modeling implementation of PBIP for other schoolbased staff)
  • Collect and analyze PBIP data and review with student, staff and parents
  • Consult with teachers and instructional assistants on comprehensive campuses to develop targeted interventions for students when the school teams need to explore alternative strategies
  • Assist teachers and instructional assistants in identifying and addressing student academic, social and behavioral needs
  • Describe and model for teachers and instructional assistants evidencebased teaching strategies, techniques, and adaptations to meet the academic and behavioral needs of students
  • Conducting functional behavioral assessments and positive behavior intervention plans, including data collection, interviews, and observations
  • Provide follow up support to school based staff on the training, implementation, and evaluation of positive behavior intervention plans
  • Communicate with the appropriate Director of Student Support Systems on the status of students receiving supports
  • Exhibit professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the work unit
