Description
"Deutsche Bahn is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us. We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a train traffic controller (m/f/d) for DB InfraGO AG at our location in Stralsund, with the vocational school located in Güstrow. As an apprentice, you will become a coordinator for our trains, working in a control center (known as a "signal box") rather than on the trains themselves. We have numerous signal boxes throughout Germany, where you will monitor trains in your area through screens or boards and use buttons, switches, and levers to control their movements. You will also have many other responsibilities, making you a crucial team member for our train drivers. You will be in constant communication with them, exchanging information about any changes during the journey. Working closely with a small team, you will be based at a signal box near Stralsund, where you will have a front-row seat to watch the trains pass by. Most train movements are controlled through levers, buttons, or switches. What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • Your colleagues will guide you step by step on how to operate the technology in a signal box.
  • You will learn when to press the right buttons and switches to change signals (traffic lights
