What you'll do:
The Campus Security team strives for excellence in security monitoring and customer service support. You will meet, greet, and provide service to customers in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.

Equally an essential part of the job, you will enforce procedures to protect Viasat's personnel, property, proprietary information, and U.S.

Government information on company premises.


This will include performing routine security and safety rounds, performing security checks, ensuring the integrity of our campus, and ensuring all visitors are badged and escorted as required.

You will also monitor security and video surveillance systems. Members of the Security team support emergency response protocols and are expected to follow routine documented processes.

  • This position includes operation of a company vehicle and will require a valid driver's license and compliance with the Viasat Vehicle Driver Policy. A detailed Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) assessment will be required as part of Viasat's preemployment screening._

Viasat Vehicle Driver Program_**- Viasat is committed to providing and maintaining a safe working environment to protect our employees and the citizens of the communities where we conduct business.

The purpose of the Viasat Vehicle Driver Policy is to ensure all employees who operate a Viasat-owned vehicle for business maintain acceptable standards of proficiency and safety.

It is an essential function of the position that the employee meets the requirements of Viasat's driver program._


The day-to-day:

  • This position is on the night shift working overnight hours (including weekends): Thu-Sun 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Have the availability to work other shifts (ex: days, afternoon, weekends shifts, and some holidays as needed)
  • Monitor video surveillance, access control/alarm systems, and provide the appropriate responses
  • Enforce policies in a professional and personable manner
  • Document security incidents and other events clearly and succinctly
  • Work well under pressure and multitask with the ability to adjust priorities in order to respond to urgent alarm conditions and events

What you'll need:

  • 1+ years' experience in general security administration and support
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as general office equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work with customers and other visitors in a professional, courteous manner
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid CA driver's license
  • U.S. citizenship
